The Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Ambassador Kairat Sarybay held a meeting with H.E. Ibtissam Rakha Hassan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Secretary General expressed sincere gratitude for Egypt’s ongoing support of CICA’s transformation and other priorities of the Kazakh Chairmanship. Madam Ambassador was briefed on the progress in implementing the initiatives of President K.Tokayev of Kazakhstan. Specifically, the Secretary General thanked Egypt for attending the CICA Ministerial Conference on Environmental Issues on 28 August 2024 and welcomed the Egyptian Embassy’s participation in the upcoming Youth Council Meeting and the Rally of Volunteer Movements Leaders under its auspices to be held on 3-4 October 2024 in Astana.
The Ambassador of Egypt was updated on CICA’s most recent developments and plans for the rest of 2024, including the preparation for the upcoming CICA Ministerial Council meeting in Baku this December.
Ambassador Kairat Sarybay followed up on key agreements reached during his recent bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt in New York. Specifically, they discussed ways to deepen cooperation in implementing confidence building measures and elaborated on joint projects to promote multilingualism.
The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on some current developments in West Asia and the broader region of CICA.
