On November 2, 2020, the Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Ambassador Kairat Sarybay paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Ufuk Ekici.


On November 2, 2020, the Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Ambassador Kairat Sarybay paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of Turkey to Kazakhstan H.E. Ufuk Ekici and expressed condolences on the numerous human casualties caused by the devastating earthquake in Izmir.

During the conversation, cooperation within the framework of Confidence Building Measures in ‘New Challenges and Threats’, as well as in the ‘Military-Political’ and in ‘Development of Small and Medium Enterprises’ Dimensions, in which Turkey is the Coordinator and Co-coordinator, respectively, have been discussed.

Executive Director Ambassador K.Sarybay expressed gratitude for the significant contribution of Turkey to the CICA process. In particular, it was noted that the annual seminars for specialists of anti-terrorist agencies of the CICA Member States have become a valuable contribution to deepening the trust and cooperation of the CICA Member States in the field of fighting terrorism.

Ambassador U.Ekici noted that Turkey welcomes the assumption of the CICA Chairmanship by Kazakhstan, taking into account the country's positive image in the international arena and the repeatedly proven ability to maintain a balance of interests of many partners on multilateral international platforms.

He underlined that Turkey remains committed to the goals of the CICA and will contribute to its further facilitation. He supported the initiative to create a Club of CICA Ambassadors.

The parties agreed to intensify cooperation within the framework of the CICA and to realize its promising mediation potential.
