The CICA Secretariat together with the Sustainable Development Earth Foundation expects to plant 30 sakura seedlings in the Presidential Park of Nur-Sultan, which is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Conference. The event will be attended by Akimat of the Almaty district of Nur-Sultan, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, CICA Secretariat, heads of diplomatic missions of the CICA Member and Observer States, as well as the media representatives.
This year, the planting of sakura seedlings is intended to mark the 30th anniversary of CICA.
CICA applies a comprehensive approach to security issues, based on the strong linkage between economic and social well-being and environmental security. This event corresponds to the main objectives of CICA under the environmental dimension and contributes to efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The event will also help to raise public awareness on the issues of combating climate change, promoting green energy and protecting the environment.
