It is my pleasure and honour to acknowledge the voluntary financial contribution to the CICA Secretariat’s budget by the Republic of Türkiye.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Mustafa Kapucu for paying a visit to the CICA Headquarters today, for his unwavering support of our work, and to convey my gratitude to the Government of Türkiye for this significant gesture.
Türkiye as a CICA founding member has been a steadfast partner in our collective efforts to foster confidence and cooperation among Asian nations and is the third-largest contributor to the CICA Secretariat budget. In 2010-2014, the CICA Member States under the Chairmanship of Türkiye started negotiations on a draft CICA Plan of Action on the Implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. The Plan was adopted last year at the Sixth CICA Summit in Astana becoming a historic achievement aimed at implementing this Strategy voluntarily in the CICA region.
During the Turkish Chairmanship in CICA, some advisory bodies such as the CICA Business Council were established. Additionally, it's worth noting that the 2010 CICA Summit in Istanbul was marked by the first-ever synergistic gathering of CICA and the OSCE.
I am confident that Türkiye will further contribute to the development of CICA and its gradual transformation into a full-fledged international organization.
I look forward to our further fruitful cooperation in the interest of peace and prosperity in Asia.
