The five-day training seminar “Combating Forgery of Documents to Prevent Human Smuggling and Illegal Migration”, organized by the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) together with representatives of the Turkish National Police, completed its work on 30 September 2022.
As a result of the training course, certificates of the Ministry of Interior of Türkiye were awarded to 38 officers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, Russia, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
The programme included the study of various methods of detecting forged documents, the examination of equipment seized during operations, as well as the analysis of the behavioral characteristics of criminals for their early detection.
At the certificate award ceremony, Deputy Executive Director Ms. Chi Fang noted the importance of the event and its significant contribution to the CICA Plan of Implementation of Confidence Building Measures in the priority area “New Challenges and Threats”.
In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to Kazakhstan Mr. Abdulaziz bin Sultan Al Rumaihi emphasized the relevance of the course topic in modern realities and expressed gratitude to the CICA Secretariat and the Ministry of Interior of Türkiye for organizing the event.
The next CICA seminar on the topic “Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism” will begin on 31 October 2022 in Ankara.
