Almaty, 30 September – CICA Secretary General Ambassador Kairat Sarybay attended VII International Transport and Logistics Business Forum “New Silk Way”, held as part of Kazakhstan Transport Week and the 28th International Exhibition “Translogistica Kazakhstan 2025” in Almaty. The Forum, which gathered ministers, industry leaders and international organizations, served as a central platform to discuss the future of transport corridors, digitalization, and innovative technologies.
Ambassador Kairat Sarybay spoke at panel session on “Artificial Intelligence in Global Transport Systems: The Role of International Organizations in Applying and Implementing Innovations”, underlining that artificial intelligence is transforming transport and logistics by improving safety, efficiency, and sustainability. He emphasized that ensuring equal access to digital innovations is essential for avoiding new “digital divides,” particularly for landlocked and developing countries. “The future of transport will depend not only on the infrastructure of roads, railways, and ports, but also on how wisely we harness technology to manage them,” he stated.

The Secretary General outlined CICA’s ongoing initiatives to support innovation, including the upcoming Forum on Digital Transformation and Innovation in Baku, as well as an exchange in December on digitalization of transport corridors. He also highlighted the proposal to establish a CICA Council on Sustainable Connectivity, initiated by the President of Kazakhstan and supported by the Azerbaijani Chairmanship, which aims to strengthen regional transport links, build resilient supply chains, and promote smart and green infrastructure.
By placing digitalization and sustainability at the heart of its confidence building measures, CICA seeks to contribute to secure, climate-friendly, and inclusive connectivity across Asia. Ambassador Sarybay reiterated CICA’s commitment to sharing knowledge, advancing fair use of AI, and working with international partners to ensure that technology serves as a bridge between nations rather than a source of division.
The Forum’s rich agenda also featured discussions on the development of Euro-Asian transport corridors, multimodal trade, aviation and maritime transport, and the transformation of professional competencies in logistics, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s role as a hub for regional dialogue and cooperation in the transport sector.
