About Us Concluding remarks by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev

Concluding remarks by H.E. Mr. Nursultan A. Nazarbayev

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Distinguished colleagues!

Ladies and gentlemen!

Our summit is concluding its work. I thank you very much for your active participation in it and unbiased attitude to the issues discussed.

The work of this forum shows that the efforts of all the CICA process participants, made during the recent ten years, have led to a desired result. The Almaty Act and the CICA summit Declaration on Eliminating Terrorism and Promoting Dialogue among Civilizations mark a new stage in the development of international relations on the Asian subcontinent.

Today we have initiated a new process aimed at enhancing stability and security in Asia and by doing so, we are fulfilling our high duty entrusted to us by our nations.

Today will undoubtedly be a historic day.

It will be much easier for our descendants than for us to evaluate the present event, to comprehensively estimate its consequences in political, military, economic and humanitarian spheres.

I am sure that their assessment will not differ from the kind words said in this hall today.

I would like to express my special thanks for the warm words addressed to Kazakhstan, a coordinator of the CICA process. Kazakhstan is doing and will do everything possible to strengthen peace and security.

All of us, gathered here in Almaty, are united by one goal — to ensure stability and security in Asia. Another very important step forward has been made today. The way towards this goal is long and hard. But we are determined to pass it together and this decision is a guarantee of the ultimate success of our actions for the sake of peace and security.

Thank you for your attention.
