CICA Secretary General and First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan discuss integrated approaches to establishing CICA Council on Sustainable Connectivity




As part of the initiatives of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the Sixth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Secretary General of CICA Ambassador Kairat Sarybay met with First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.

The Secretary General informed his counterpart about CICA’s current activities and transformation process, as well as progress in the implementation of the Kazakh Chairmanship’s priorities for 2023-2024.

The parties focused their discussion on integrated approaches to establishing the CICA Council on Sustainable Connectivity spearheaded by President Tokayev.

The meeting also covered various aspects of economic growth in the CICA region, digitalization of business processes, development of international transportation corridors, environment protection, and renewable energy.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan briefed the Secretary General on the Government's plans for sustainable connectivity and shared its vision for a number of specific areas to implement the initiative of the Kazakh President.

The parties agreed to continue discussions, including on green transformation and industrial cooperation.
