International Training on "Sufficiency Economy in Microfinance for SMEs Development”

Date: from August 22 to September 2, 2022 in virtual mode.

Organizer: Mekong Institute (Kingdom of Thailand) in cooperation with the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA)

The target audience:

• Senior and middle-level officials who deal with microfinance, academic institutions of the CICA space that are involved in microcredit and microfinance, employees of the banking sector;
• Government representatives (including ministries/departments of finance, economy, industry and trade, social development) and banks;
• Private sector (financial business associations, SME cooperative and banking associations, etc.)
• Universities and institutions of financial management of the CICA Member States.

Topics for discussion:

• Philosophy of sufficiency economics and its application in the microcredit program for social and economic development;

• Understanding microfinance with a focus on operational aspects;

• Building and strengthening links between participants through peer learning and joint action on policy and technical aspects of microfinance development;

• Presentation of successful microfinance projects in Thailand;

• Facilitating the development of small and medium-sized businesses and stimulating inclusive growth in the CICA area.
