Ladies and Gentlemen!
I express my gratitude to H.E. Mr. Yakup Beris, UN Resident Coordinator for the Republic of Kazakhstan, for inviting us to the celebration of UN’s 75th Anniversary.
The United Nations throughout its journey of more than seven decades has been the flagship of multilateralism and a guiding global organization to various regional and international multilateral organizations across the globe, including CICA.
The CICA being the largest dialogue and interaction platform of Asian countries attaches a great importance to be an observer organization to the United Nations and partner organization to the UNODC. CICA’s founding document Almaty Act is based on the ideals of the United Nations – peace, justice, equality and dignity. CICA Catalogue of CBMs is an essential tool and universal approach to ensure stability and security across the CICA space.
Excellencies,
We are commemorating the Seventy-fifth Anniversary of the United Nations in a very turbulent time: facing challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in loss of human life and illness, global economic recession, increasing poverty, fear and anxiety.
In today’s time, considering the fact that our challenges are interconnected and demand more coordinated efforts than ever, CICA leaders during recently held special meeting of CICA Foreign Ministers have shown their commitment to put more efforts together to accelerate the post-pandemic recovery.
On this occasion, I would like to commend the role of UN’s previous and present leadership, officials and staff of various UN offices; and I congratulate world community on UN’s 75 Anniversary.
I thank you!
