The Chairmanship of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) sincerely welcomes the successfully organized, conducted and completed constitutional referendum held June 27 in its member-state Kyrgyzstan and considers the referendum as an important step towards constitutional order, rule of law and stability in Kyrgyzstan.

           According to the Declaration on the Principles Guiding Relations Between the CICA Member-States of 14 September 1999, CICA member-states solemnly pledged themselves to respect each other’s right to freely choose and develop their political, social, economic and cultural systems, as well as their right to determine their laws and administrative regulations.

           Within this context, the Chairmanship of CICA will exert every effort to support Kyrgyzstan in its endeavours to ensure constitutional order, political stability and economic development in the country.
